Day 1 Monday

Arrive in Broken Hill

You will be met by your Host from Silver City Tours and escorted to accommodation.

 

Day 2 Tuesday (LB, D)

City Sights Heritage Tour, Geo Centre, 9 holes Broken Hill Golf Course

Today we explore Australia's First Heritage Listed City on our Heritage Tour, showcasing Broken Hill's rich history. We’ll visit the Miner’s Memorial, located at the highest point of the Line of Lode. From there, you’ll be able to see the city’s unique architecture. Next, we’ll visit the Geo Centre, where you can see a 42kg silver nugget and learn about the importance of mining to the town. After lunch, you'll be transfered to the Broken Hill Golf & Country Club for a round of nine holes. The course, lush from tee to green, is set amidst the rugged and arid terrain of the Barrier Rangers, making it one of the finest Outback Golf Courses in Australia. 


Day 3 Wednesday (LB, L, D)

Menindee, River cruise & Sunset Strip’s CHALLENGE 

This leisurely tour takes you around the Menindee Lakes scheme, with scenic stops along the way at Menindee. The highlight of the trip is a wetlands cruise on the River Lady, where you'll get up close and personal with the abundant wildlife that calls this area home. We'll enjoy lunch at Maidens Hotel, followed by a visit to the quaint Sunset Strip community nestled along the Menindee Lake. Here, you'll challange your fellow golfer to nearest the pin on the unique 6th Hole, part of Sunset Strip's nine-hole golf course where putting is done on oil-soaked blacks. All necessary equipment—club, ball, and tee—will be provided for this one-of-a-kind experience.

 

Day 4 Thursday (LB, D)

9 holes Golf & Silverton ghost town

Rise and shine early for another invigorating round of nine holes of golf. Following the game, we venture to Silverton, renowned as the liveliest ghost town in Australia. Enjoy a leisurely lunch (own expense) and immerse yourself in the sights of this iconic location steeped in Australia’s film history.This is a must-see destination for any movie buff or history lover. You'll be able to explore craft centres, galleries, and museums, as well as the iconic Silverton Hotel.

 

Day 5 Friday (LB, D)

Sulphide st railway & historical Center, Royal flying doctor service, Sunset Sculptures Symposium and Palace Hotel                                                                                                    This morning we discover the importance of the cultural diversity that helped form the foundation of Broken Hill. We also see mineral & hospital collections and play with trains. After lunch we visit the RFDS, where we'll learn about the important work they do in providing medical care to remote communities.After that, we head out to the famous Sculpture Symposium to watch the sunset, then we'll finish up with a meal at the iconic Palace Hotel, made famous by the film Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and for those who are feeling lucky, you will have the chance to try your luck at a game of two-up Broken Hill is the only place where you can play two-up legally on a regular basis. So, join the locals and come in spinner!!



Day 6 Saturday (LB)

Your Choice

Enjoy a leisurely day with the freedom to explore the charming streets of Broken Hill or opt for a competitive round of golf with the locals (at your expense, a Australian Golf handicap will be required). Silver City Tours can assist with bookings, and group transfers can be included for added convenience

 

Day 7 Sunday (LB, L, D)

White Cliffs (overnight)

Today, we explore White Cliffs, Australia's oldest commercial opal field, renowned as one of the few locations where white opal is unearthed. Our day unfolds with lunch at the White Cliffs Pub.

Later, immerse yourself in the captivating Red Earth Opal Underground Mine Tour & Showroom. Here, you'll have the exclusive chance to acquire opals directly from the authentic source. As the day concludes, experience the unique accommodation offered by the famous White Cliffs Underground Motel, ensuring a night of comfort and intrigue.

 

Day 8 Monday (LB)

After breakfast we pay a visit to the Sporting Club for a challenging closest-to-the-pin contest on the par-three course All necessary equipment, clubs, balls, and tee will be provided. We depart for Broken Hill.

 

Day 9 Tuesday (LB)

You will be transferred to your departure point.
